“Yours is the light by which my spirit's born; you are my sun, my moon, and all my stars.” - E.E.Cummings
Just before Christmas Joanna from The Hall Wedding Venue approached me with an idea and we somehow managed to pull it off with just a few weeks of planning!!! We had a gorgeous, real life (engaged) couple, Marnie and Matt who had never had photos together and who totally ROCKED it!!
Villa Walton in Matamata, with it's old school charm and elegance was the perfect location for getting ready (I was lucky enough to stay the night of the shoot there too! Glenn and Mark are the perfect hosts and I can't wait to get back there again!) It was light and airy, with perfect rooms for preps and makeup by the talented Georgia Le'Mon who turned Marnie into a glowing bride!
Samantha Stokes, 'Cara' gown was the PERFECT dress for our celestial bride, as was the 'Galaxy' kimono worn whilst getting ready.
From the Villa we went on to The Hall. Their secret room was transformed into a heavenly, celestial space, thanks to styling by the talented Joanna.
The bell tower, one of the many rescued and re-purposed features at The Hall, was done up in florals of warm, golden tones, which were also reflected in Marnies bouque. Once again these were done by the talented Joanna (The Mayflower Meadow)
Charlotte Waugh Creative, produced a couple of beautiful bespoke pieces for our shoot. This mirror art, and the stunning Moon creation seen later on. Both of these helped pull the theme together and formed great props for my portraits.
The Hall has so many different areas for photos. I enjoyed shooing in the orchard and in The Mayflower Meadow as the sun dropped and radiated a golden glow onto the archway with the buddhist bells. These came from Thailand and are often seen on temples and rung for good luck or during prayers for blessings.
After sunset came blue hour and we decided to have some fun with that too!
"If music be the food of love, play on.... " All kinds of dreamy started happening after the sun went down...
I got to push my creativity and try some new things in this shoot which was super fun and I hope you enjoyed it!
